Dual Enrollment Info:
Both Cleveland State Community College and Lee University will be here, in the cafeteria, on July 28th and 29th from 9 am until 12pm. They will be here to complete dual enrollment applications or to just answer questions. Parents are encouraged to come due to the fact that any student under 18 will need parent signatures to complete the application process.

Dual Enrollment Courses Offered at BCHS:
E112 English 12 DE / Comp. I
English 12 DE / Comp. I is a college level course taught in cooperation with Cleveland State Community College. The curriculum for this course emphasizes writing expository and persuasive essays along with a survey of British Literature. Seven essays, totaling a minimum of 3000 words, are required. A study of the principles of rhetoric, sentence structure, diction, etc. complements the instruction in composition. Literary selections of various genres, including Shakespeare and Chaucer, complete the literary emphasis.

Pre-Requisites: Must be in 12th Grade; 3.0 GPA, minimum composite score and English score of 19 on ACT; Teacher Recommendation
E113 English 12 DE / Comp. II
English 12 DE / Comp. II is a college level course taught in cooperation with Cleveland State Community College. The curriculum emphasizes writing literary analyses of various major selections of world literature. Five essays of critique and / or explication must be written dealing with drama, fiction, and poetry. A literary research paper of a minimum of 1000 words is also required. Rhetorical skills are emphasized, including style, diction, effective sentence structure, etc. Vocabulary study complements the course.

H103 U.S. History AP/DE
U.S. History AP/DE emphasizes major events that have helped to shape our country. Additional emphasis is given to how basic laws of economics, sociology, psychology, etc. have influenced our past, and how that past affects us today. Study of the constitution and other important American documents is also included. Students in the World History AP/DE class are expected to complete additional research and writing requirements. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit through the AP Test or Dual Enrollment Option.

College Algebra is a college-level mathematics course that is taught in conjunction with Cleveland State Community College. Topics covered include: functions (including linear, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic); analysis of graphs; linear systems, inequalities, counting principles; and probability.

M119 Statistics DE
Statistics is a college-level mathematics course that is taught in conjunction with Cleveland State Community College. Topics covered include: descriptive statistics, probability, and statistical inference (including means, proportions, variances, ANOVA, regression and correlation analysis, chi-square analysis, and non-parametrics).
